18K or 14K?
The difference between 14K and 18K gold is the amount of gold used in the alloy.
14K consists of 58.5% gold and 41.5% silver, while 18K has 75% gold and 25% silver.
As a result, 14K is harder and more resistant to scratches and wear, making it ideal for everyday jewelry that needs to stand the test of time. The colour might be less vibrant, since there’s less gold.
18K gold, on the other hand, contains a higher proportion of pure gold, giving it a richer, deeper color and a more luxurious high-end feel.
It is slightly softer and therefore more suitable for special pieces that are worn with care, such as engagement rings or statement pieces.
